Sound System with Hemi DJ playing Reggae, Soca, R&B and Soul music from the 60's to the present. The music is CLEAN Radio played.

 

Hemi Sound System was founded in 1969 by me Michael Payton Stewart in Kingston Jamaica W.I. with the name Hemi Disco.

 

The name “Hemi” came from the type of car engine which dominated racing around the world, such as Hemi Chrysler 426 and Lotus Cortina 1558cc, and I owned a 1968 Ford Lotus Cortina, with Tag # AR 18.

I give thanks to the LORD Jesus Christ for keeping me strong and healthy and being able to spin these musical discs, which I love to do greatly.

 

McIntosh amplifiers dominated the sound system world in the 70’s due to the clean deep round bass it reproduced for Reggae, but the high price and the heavy weight (128 lbs.) were the negative factors, so they are now mostly found in expensive homes.
